The Bestiary

VOID Tabletop Roleplaying Game provides a wide variety of animals, monsters, fairies, demons, and undead for players to encounter while exploring the world. Many of these have not been found in any other tabletop roleplaying game (to knowledge). Here is a brief list of 22 of the creatures found in The Bestiary. Expect more information regarding the creature, stats, and society of some monsters in the final product!

BAGIENNIK

Medium Monster 

The bagiennik is a reptilian-like monster that with a rough, scaled head that is covered with bulbous pores. The face is elongated with sunken eyes, no nostrils and mossy hair. The body is functionally a skeleton covered with decayed skin. Tentacle fingers are long, giving the bagiennik the ability to grasp ahold of its opponents with a dangerous grip of death.

BES

Medium Spirit

The bes is a spirit that appears as a fat, bearded man with large ears that stands shorter than most humans. The bes is known for speaking in riddles and trying to make bargains with the living. The overall goal of the bes is to control the mind of a living subject or possess them.

BLUD

Small Fairy

The blud is a small fairy that can be either male or female, that looks like walking roots or twigs covered in foliage.  The blud has wide wings that erupt from its thin back and a long tail that will often resemble that of a colorful bird. The blud enjoys causing mischief and disorientation for weary travelers. The blud is known to lead people aimlessly from their path.

BUKAVAC

Large Demon

The bukavac is generally seen standing on two feet wielding a labrys. The bukavac has a blotched, bluish-white body and two gnarled horns that erupt from its skull. When enraged, the bukavac will use Primal magic to have extra legs erupt from its side to give it extra speed. It will then trample down its enemies.

DOMOVOI

Medium Monster

The domovoi is a medium, masculine, and bearded creatures that is covered in hair. The domovoi has little horns and tail that are often times missed under all the hair. The domovoi enjoys transforming into animals, specifically pets, to play tricks on victims. When cornered, the domovoi will use its attacks to paralyze its victims.

DREKAVAC

Medium Monster

The drekavac is medium-sized demon with an elongated and thin body with an oversized head. Males can be found with large goat horns stretching from the skull, whereas females will have no horns. The drekavac’s mouth is forced open by its sharp teeth. The creature has a horrifying yell that it uses to stun its opponents.

HALA

Medium Demon

The drekavac is medium-sized demon with an elongated and thin body with an oversized head. Males can be found with large goat horns stretching from the skull, whereas females will have no horns. The drekavac’s mouth is forced open by its sharp teeth. The creature has a horrifying yell that it uses to stun its opponents.

LIKHO

Small Monster

The likho are small green monsters that generally reside in forest areas. The likho remove the left eye from their children at birth to teach the child to rely on their other traits for survival. Therefore, all likho have one eye. The males and females are short, and are generally dressed with a simple cloth around their waist. They fight in small packs.

LIKHYI

Medium Monster

The likhyi is a demon humanoid from the Netherworld with black skin, fanged teeth, and extended claws. The likhyi are said to have once been the living that died before fulfilling their purpose in life. They have extended claws and teeth that are dangerous to come in contact with. The Likhyi can fight with any known weapon and are fully capable of using sorcery.

MYLING

Medium Monster

The myling is a medium monster that is the size of a small child. The myling has yellow demonic eyes and sharp claws at the end of each of its fingertips. The mylings skin is yellowish and has spots that appear to be molded. It will jump onto its victims back and become heavier the longer it holds on. It will attempt to drag the victim into the swamp and force them to sink, gnashing and biting them the entire way. It is thought that these creatures are the lost children of the Stuhia.

POLEVIK

Medium Monster

The polevik wear all black or white, roaming around primarily in the hills. Polevik have different colored eyes and grass instead of hair. They enjoy tricking people and leading them astray and giving them diseases. They also enjoy death and will most frequently try to slaughter their victims while they sleep.

PRETA

Medium Undead

The preta are undead creatures that are said to derive from the Uvil culture. They are the cursed and the damned that seek to feed off of the living.

RAROG

Medium Monster

The rarog is a falcon engulfed with fire that has oversized horns and talons. The creature uses a fiery whirlwind to lift up enemies and slam them to the ground.

RUSALKI

Medium Monster

The rusalki are mermaids with long mossy hair and attractive figures. The rusalki spend their days in watery locations, but grow legs and can leave the water at night. The rusalki enchant travelers and attempt to lead them to rivers where they can drown their victims and feast upon their flesh. The rusalki enjoy dance and song and use these methods to draw travelers near with the intent to kill them.

RUSALKI

Medium Monster

The rusalki are mermaids with long mossy hair and attractive figures. The rusalki spend their days in watery locations, but grow legs and can leave the water at night. SIMARGL

Large Demon

The Simargl are giant winged wolves that glide more than fly. Much like the medium sized wolves, the simargl travel in packs and can have a deadly bite. These monstrous wolves are amazingly quick, tucking their wings to their sides to reach impressive speeds. The simargl will often be found accompanying other demonic beings as pets.

SKRZAK

Small Monster

The skrzak is a small, black or green gremlin-like creature with oversized ears and a small body that is cold to the touch. The imp flies and attacks in large groups, attempting to latch onto its enemies and suck their blood.

STUHAC

Large Monster

The stuhac is a troll-like creature has massive upper body strength, and frequently steals human body parts that it wears on its body like clothes. When the creature becomes weakened physically, it takes the body parts off its enemies and attaches them onto itself to regain physical strength.

VILA

Medium Fairy

The vila are dryad/nymph creatures that take on the form of the environment they live in (bark skin, green hair, water body, air body, etc.). They appear as beautiful maidens, oftentimes naked. They can be friendly or dangerous depending on the vila, sometimes healing travelers and other times killing them outright.

VODNIK

Small Undead

The vodnik are small creatures with lifelessness in their eyes. It is said that the vodnik are the remnants of the living that died from some terrible event, ending their life shortly. These creatures focus on using elemental magic.

VUCARI

Medium Monster

The vucari are best described as shapeshifters. They dress in strange clothes and travel the wilderness, sometimes venturing into the lands of the civilized. They change into the many animals of the wild with the intent to cause harm upon the other living creatures. The vulcari use their magic for ultimate evil to bring hardship and pain upon all those that breathe life into the world.

VULKODLAK

Medium Monster

The vulkodlak are best described as wolf-men. They have the ears of a wolf, snouts of a wolf, sharp teeth, and are covered in fur, but walk as the humans would. The vulkodlak are creatures hungry for blood and death, eager to control the world of the living. The vulkodlak travel in packs, often found roaming in the wilderness.
